10:00 a.m. Genetic Impacts of Feed Efficiency, Camren Maierle, Penn State Extension,
10:45 a.m. The Fecal Egg Count EBV May do More than Just Parasite Resistance, Scott Bowdridge, West Virginia University,
11:30-12:30 Lunch
12:30-3:00 p.m. The afternoon will consist of a series of sessions led by a team of breeding and genetics personnel from University of Nebraska Lincoln including Ron Lewis, Hilal Yazar Gunes, Bob Forbes, Sara Nilson and Artur Oliveira Rocha.
Topics will include:
- Update on the Sheep GEMS project and data collected to date
- Evaluating sheep robustness in genetic evaluations
- Incorporating parasite resistance into a selection index
- Implementing genomic information into the genetic evaluation
- Improving accuracy of breeding value estimations
- Building a reference population for genomic predictions
3:00 p.m. Iowa Sheep Industry Association Annual Membership Meeting
